This progressive course bridges the foundations of House dance technique with freestyle composition. Each session introduces dancers to compositional methodologies that connect technical clarity with improvisation, helping dancers develop structure within their freestyle while expanding their creative range.
Through guided exercises, musical exploration, and collaborative practice, dancers will experiment with phrasing, transitions, dynamics, and intention. The course emphasizes risk-taking, personal voice, and confidence in creative decision-making while remaining grounded in the rhythmic and cultural foundations of House dance.
Designed for intermediate+ dancers, this course is ideal for those looking to deepen their movement vocabulary, strengthen freestyle composition, and explore new approaches to building movement ideas in real time.
Class includes: a special guest workshop, instructor feedback, and access to the Renovate online community.
This course also counts toward Renovate’s Artisan Scholarship.
